How CoinAiLyzer Works
CoinAiLyzer turns a coin photo into an AI-generated grade estimate and value context. Here’s what that analysis looks at, what it can’t do, and how to read the results responsibly. Everything below is for education and reference — CoinAiLyzer is not a professional grading or certification service.
What the photo analysis considers
CoinAiLyzer reads the coin’s visible surfaces from your photo — the detail that remains, wear on the high points, marks and scratches, strike, and overall eye appeal. It uses those cues to place the coin in a grading range and, where available, attach grade-specific value context.
The clearer and more complete your photos of both sides, the more the analysis has to work with. Results are photo-based estimates for education and reference, not a certified appraisal.
Specialized AI versus General AI
General AI analyzes many coin types with a single broad model. Specialized AI uses models trained on specific series or coin types for closer, more consistent grade estimates.
When a specialized model is available for your coin, CoinAiLyzer applies it; otherwise it uses general analysis. Specialized coverage is expanding over time, where available.
What the app cannot verify from a photo
A photo has limits. CoinAiLyzer cannot weigh a coin, measure it, test the metal, or confirm authenticity, and it cannot see what a photo doesn’t show.
It does not replace PCGS, NGC, CAC, or ANACS, and it is not a professional grading or certification service. For authentication or a certified grade, use a recognized third-party grading company.
How to use estimates responsibly
Treat every result as an AI-generated grade estimate and value context — not a certified appraisal, and not financial or investment advice.
Use it to guide your own research, compare against verified references where available, and confirm anything important in hand or through a professional service before you buy, sell, or insure. Estimates can change with better photos and shifting markets.
How photo quality affects results
Because the analysis grades from what it can see, photo quality matters. Even, neutral lighting, sharp focus, both sides captured, and luster visible without heavy glare all lead to sharper, more consistent estimates.

The Price Guide provides value context by coin type and grade, pulled from Greysheet market data where available. Reference images let you compare your coin to a verified example for its type and grade, also where available.
Coverage for both varies by series and grade and is expanding. Any figures shown are estimated value context for reference, not a guaranteed or offered price.
